About this policy
This policy explains how PrepFAA handles personal information when you visit our website, use Study, create an account, subscribe, or contact us. PrepFAA serves customers in the United States.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@prepfaa.com.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information generated when you use PrepFAA:
- Account information: Your account ID, name, email address, sign-in method, profile details, and account or subscription preferences. If you use a connected sign-in service, we receive the profile information it shares with us.
- Study information: Your test bank, sessions, answers, attempts, question order, saved position, progress, practice-exam results, and review status.
- Billing information: Your plan, billing period, payment and refund status, and transaction references. Our payment providers collect payment details. Do not send card numbers or security codes to support.
- Support information: Your email address, messages, and attachments. Please send only what we need to help you.
- Usage information: Study pages you view while signed in, selected categories, session starts and resumes, progress, and interactions with explanations, references, save recovery, and support.
- Technical information: IP addresses, request details, browser and device information, and error or performance diagnostics. Diagnostics may identify your account and the study action or question involved.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Provide account access and manage subscriptions.
- Save and restore progress, explain results, and generate reports you request.
- Respond to support requests.
- Protect the service, prevent misuse, and diagnose problems.
- Understand usage and improve PrepFAA.
- Meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain transaction records.
Service providers and other disclosures
We use providers for:
- Account sign-in and subscription management.
- Payments.
- Hosting, network delivery, and supporting infrastructure.
- Application data storage.
- Error and performance diagnostics.
- Study product analytics.
- In-app support.
- Traffic analytics, including visits, pageviews, referrals, and campaigns.
These providers process information needed to deliver their services and may process it outside your state.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or misuse, or complete a business transfer, subject to applicable law.
Using these providers does not automatically give other learners or your instructor access to your private study history.
Instructor reports
You can generate reports from completed practice exams and download, print, or share them. Reports may include your name, test bank, scores, category results, and missed questions.
We do not automatically send reports to your instructor. Once you share a report, the recipient controls their copy.
Cookies, browser storage, and support
PrepFAA and its sign-in and payment providers use cookies or similar technologies for sign-in, security, and payments.
Browser storage remembers preferences, signup choices, study guidance, and interface state. Clearing it may reset preferences or require another sign-in. Account data is stored separately.
Our support widget may prefill your name and email address. Question reports include test-bank, question, and reference IDs in a draft you can review before sending. Browser storage remembers support sessions and draft status.
Diagnostics and analytics
Error and performance diagnostics
When diagnostics are enabled, our Study integration is configured to remove sensitive values and exclude cookies, request bodies, and URL query parameters from diagnostic events.
Events may still contain an account ID and details about the action involved. These safeguards reduce unnecessary collection; diagnostics are not necessarily anonymous.
Study product analytics
Study product analytics uses an account ID that does not directly reveal your name or email address to connect activity across visits. Account-linked analytics is not anonymous.
This integration keeps its browser state in memory only. It does not use product analytics cookies or persistent browser storage.
It may collect test-bank, category, session, and question IDs; progress totals; approximate time spent with Study in the foreground; and whether saving or loading a reference required a retry.
It excludes:
- Names and email addresses.
- Selected answers.
- Question and explanation text.
- Message contents.
- Authentication tokens.
- URL query parameters.
- Document links.
We configure the product analytics provider to anonymize IP addresses. Network providers still process connection information to deliver requests.
Analytics requests may travel through a PrepFAA subdomain before reaching the provider.
Study disables product analytics collection when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. This does not disable sign-in, saved progress, support, or error and performance diagnostics.
Session replay, automatic click tracking, heatmaps, surveys, and the product analytics provider’s error tracking are disabled.
Opening support or starting an issue report may create a limited analytics event. Messages and attachments stay within the support workflow.
Traffic analytics
We also use traffic analytics on our website and Study application to measure visits, pageviews, referrals, and campaigns. It may use cookies and browser identifiers. Its controls are separate from Study product analytics controls.
You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking technologies needed for sign-in or payments may stop those features from working.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and study information so you can use PrepFAA and return to your progress. Canceling a subscription or receiving a refund does not automatically delete your account or history.
How long we retain information depends on its purpose. Some records may remain for transactions, security, disputes, or legal obligations. Backups and service providers may have separate retention schedules.
Closing an account does not mean every copy is deleted immediately. Contact us to request deletion or ask what we retain and why.
Your privacy choices
Email support@prepfaa.com to request access, corrections, or deletion, or to ask about other privacy rights. Use your account email when possible.
We may need to verify your identity or clarify your request. Do not send passwords, full card details, or unnecessary identity documents.
Your rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law. If we cannot fully fulfill a request, we will explain why. You can reply to request another review or contact the relevant regulator.
A privacy request does not cancel a subscription or request a refund unless you also ask for those actions.
Security
We use access controls and other safeguards to protect information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Keep your sign-in methods secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
Policy updates
We will post changes with a revised effective date and provide additional notice when required by law. Earlier published versions will remain available through our policy version links.
